The European youth meeting held in Tours between July 28 and August 8 went very well. It brought together 50 young people aged 15 to 20 towns of Cosenza, Pécs, Baeza, Santarém and Tours who came to exchange their cultures and their vision of Europe around values such as cultural diversity and Human Rights.
This event is the first draft of the commission "participation of young citizens' network with and received support from the European Commission under the European program Youth in Action and was labeled by Council of Europe in the context of European Campaign "All different, all equal".
Local associations with expertise in the social, cultural and sports have occurred throughout the coming meeting and enrich trade: STAJ Touraine, Touraine home games, Sports Occupation (APSAT), the Departmental Committee handisport, Spacecraft.
Thus, some participants led by the sculptor Lydia VIOLLEAU Tours conducted a sculpture evoking the diversity that opened at the end of the meeting and will again be presented at the opening of the library of Tours in the future next November, a district of Europe.
Other young people, more interested in multimedia have made a DVD-Rom. This DVD traces interactively activities meeting and is a methodological tool for anyone wishing to organize a youth exchange.
All these workshops were also adorned with numerous sporting and cultural activities and outings: rally-Discovery Tours, visit the castle of Chenonceau, Downhill Cher canoeing, exit Futuroscope, introduction to disabled sports, etc..
