Conservation Commission of HFS was alerted by Jean- Pierre Baron, specialist Orsini's viper, about a sporting event which will take cyclist on July 20 on one of the sites of occurrence of species in the Vaucluse. The event in question needs to attract several thousand spectators, and the presence of so many people on the site could have significant impacts on the population of Orsini's viper. Thus, the SHF has requested the local authority to take into account the presence of this protected species and threatened, and recommended the establishment of actions to ensure the protection of snakes during the course of the race.
